Alumna Dr. S. Kendall Dunn of Pike Road, Alabama supports excellence in student research and learning at the University of Mississippi Department of Biology through the purchasing of new instrumentation and infrastructure required to support these instruments.

“The biology curriculum at Ole Miss put me in a great position for most of the science classes in dental school,” said Dunn, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biological science with a double minor in chemistry and English. She graduated with honors from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, receiving her Doctorate of Dental Medicine before continuing her education at the University of Tennessee where she received a Master of Science in Orthodontics.

“I was better prepared than many of the other dental students and I would like future generations of Ole Miss biology students to have the same advantage!”

Gregg Roman, chair and professor of biology, said, “Thanks to the generous and timely support from the Dunn family, our biology students will learn to use state-of-the-art instrumentation within our department.

“Because of this gift, these students will now contribute even more deeply to our understanding of living systems, ecosystems, and disease biology, and be better prepared for their future careers in fields of health and research.”
