“My focus on sculpture during my education has been not only about challenging material and space, but creating conversations around topics of personal interest. During my time here, I have taken part as a committee member for the National Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art and Practices, along with working in other regional and international conferences. My experiences through those gatherings have broadened my research and art work.
“Art is a platform for others and myself to express interest in topics that can sometimes be difficult to talk about. Looking forward, I aim to continue making work about my own experiences while educating others in materials and processes, all while creating supportive networks.”
