Freshman Advising in the College of Liberal Arts

In April 2011, the departments in the College voted on their preferred option for freshmen advising beginning in Fall 2012.

Option 1: Status quo of advising freshmen within the department – African American Studies, Art, Classics, History, International Studies, Music, Philosophy and Religion, Physics, and Public Policy Leadership

Option 2: Hybrid model with advising freshmen in Academic Support Center and formal department mentorship – Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Modern Languages, and Political Science

Option 3: Advising freshmen in Academic Support Center – English, Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology, and Southern Studies
