Corina L. Petrescu, associate professor of German, has received a prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers for the academic year 2016–2017.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation was established by Federal Republic of Germany in order to promote international cooperation in research. It supports highly qualified scholars so that they may carry out long-term research projects in Germany.
Dr. Petrescu will be affiliated with the Institute for Jewish and Religious Studies at the University of Potsdam, Germany. She will continue her research on the cultural history of post-WWII Yiddish theater in Romania, which she is currently conducting as a Senior Fellow of the Institute for Advanced Studies at the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary.
