- Help navigate curricular silos
- Provide a space (intellectual and, hopefully, physical) to innovate
- Raise visibility and public understanding of the humanities
- Provide a venue for sharing and producing research
- Build and support community among our scholars and scholars doing similar work
- Provide coordination for existing interdisciplinary programs/efforts
- Give a place to celebrate existing work
