Moving Women Forward: What Fair Pay Has to Do With It

April 16, 2015

paydayposterIn honor of Equal Pay Day on April 14, the Sarah Isom Center for Women and Gender Studies will host a presentation on the pay gap by Attorney and Advocate Noreen Farrell on April 20 at 4 p.m. in the Overby Center Auditorium.

“Women receive only 77 percent of male earnings,” said Jaime Harker, interim director of the Isom Center and associate professor of English. “Equal Pay Day is meant to symbolize how far women have to work into 2015 to earn what men did in 2014. We are proud to welcome Farrell and are excited to hear her lecture on the wage gap.”

Farrell will present her lecture “Moving Women Forward: What Fair Play Has to Do With It.” There will be a reception after the presentation. No ticket is required.
