The inaugural University of Mississippi College of Liberal Arts Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 4:30 p.m. in the Johnson Commons Ballroom.

Outstanding students, teachers, staff, and alumni will be recognized at the campus celebration with the following awards:

FACULTY TEACHING

  • Cora Lee Graham Award for Outstanding Teaching of First Year Students (tenure track)
  • Cora Lee Graham Award for Outstanding Teaching of First Year Students (instructional)
  • Howell Family Outstanding Teacher of the Year
  • University of Mississippi Humanities Teacher of the Year

FACULTY RESEARCH

  • Mike L. Edmonds New Scholar Award in the Humanities
  • Mike L. Edmonds New Scholar Award in the Social Sciences
  • Mike L. Edmonds New Scholar Award in the Fine and Performing Arts
  • Mike L. Edmonds New Scholar Award in the Natural Sciences and Mathematics
  • Melinda & Ben Yarbrough, M.D., Senior Professor Research Award for the Natural Sciences

Through the general education foundation of the University of Mississippi undergraduate degree programs, the College of Liberal Arts ensures that all UM students are grounded in skills that are the mark of a well-educated citizen who is able to fully participate in our society, economy, and democracy.
