VIDEOS: 3 Minute Thesis Research Competition Winners

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition celebrates the exciting research conducted by masters and doctoral students.

Developed by the University of Queensland and promoted by graduate schools  around the world, the exercise cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. The competition challenges graduate students to explain their research thesis/dissertation topic and its significance in three minutes using one PowerPoint slide and language appropriate to a nonspecialist audience. A critical skill for graduate students across all academic disciplines.

“Our 3MT program has done a great job of highlighting our graduate level studies as well as promoting interdisciplinary research,” said John Kiss, dean of the graduate school and professor of biology.

A team of judges (not from the discipline) determined the 2014 winners.
