Dr. Wayne Alexander (BA chemistry ’62) has been a medical school faculty member at Harvard and Emory University, retiring as chair the Department of Medicine of Emory University School of Medicine and Emory University Hospital.

Mrs. Kathryn Black (BA English ’62) has been a dedicated mother, community leader, and UM supporter, including founding board member of Ole Miss Women’s Council for Philanthropy.

Dr. J. Steven Blake (BA chemistry ’80) is a physician and owner of Blake Gastroenterology Associates, LLC in Philadelphia, PA.  He is also the current chair of the College of Liberal Arts Alumni Advisory Board.

Mr. Adam Broome (BS mathematics ’77) has had a legal career that included law school faculty member and corporate law, including Vice President-Legal, General Counsel and Secretary of Cree, Inc.

Mr. Bradford Cobb (BA English ’96) is a partner at Direct Management Group, an internationally successful music management company in Los Angeles. Named Billboard Magazine’s 2013 ‘40 Under 40’ list, Bradford manages the careers of Katy Perry, Adam Lambert, K. D. Lang, the B-52s among others.

Dr. Mark H Craig (BA physics ’86) is a plastic surgeon in Tupelo, Mississippi, and has been Chief of Surgery, Chief of Staff, and on the Board of Directors at North Mississippi Medical Center.

Dr. Mike Edmonds (BA speech and theatre ’84; MEd education with emphasis in higher education and student personnel ’85; PhD in education ’90) is Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Mr. Robert Harper (BA English ’77; JD ’80) has been in private law practice for over 25 years in the Memphis area.  He has also served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the National Guard.

Mr. Russell Hensley (BA political science ’78) was managing partner of The Bogatin Law Firm then served as CEO of The Hartwell Foundation Corporation based in Memphis, which grants awards to individuals for innovative and cutting-edge biomedical applied research that will potentially benefit children.

Dr. Clarke Holmes (BA biology ’94) is a board-certified sports medicine physician in Nashville, Tennessee.  He has received numerous awards, including being named the “Top Sports Medicine Specialist” in the nation by HealthTap.com.

Mr. John Jacobson (BA English and philosophy ’87) is a founding member of the law firm, Riley Warnock & Jacobson, PLC in Nashville, and has served as the managing partner for the firm for more than 20 years.

Mr. Ken Lackey (BS mathematics ’65) has had a successful career in business, higher education, and state government in Oklahoma, including President of the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa. He is chairman of the board and the former CEO and president of The Nordam Group, which provides aerospace components, manufacturing and repair services for private, commercial and military aircraft.

Mr. Steve McKinney (BA economics and political science ’76) is a retired environmental attorney who was with the Birmingham, Alabama law firm of Balch & Bingham’s.

Mr. Johnny McRight (BS biology and chemistry ’73; MCS biology ’75) owns and operates DeltAg (formerly McRight Services, LLC), which formulates and manufactures a complete line of crop biostimulants and micronutrients for agriculture.

Mrs. Marilyn Hall Mulherin (BA English ’78) is an accomplished artist who lives in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Alan W. Partin (BA chemistry ’83) is the Bernard L. Schwartz Distinguished Professor of Urologic Oncology at Johns Hopkins. The author of more than 550 scientific papers, he is also editor in chief of the journal Urology, and many other distinguished professional service positions and awards.

Mrs. Gail Russell (BA political science ’76) is a partner with the Louisville, Kentucky, law firm Goldberg Simpson where her main areas of practice are bankruptcy law and creditors’ rights. She is both politically active with state and national Republican Party and is active in many organizations in the Louisville community.

Mrs. Frances Permenter Smith (BA sociology ’74) was a public relations executive in a variety of public and private settings particularly in the communications industry, serving as Director of External Affairs for Comcast before she retired. She was twice named Communicator of the Year by the International Association of Business Communicators and Top 50 Businesswomen in Mississippi.

Mr. Sanford Thomas (BA psychology ’78) earned a law degree than became a financial services professional. He is owner and president of Sanford Thomas Investing.

Mrs. Leah Thomson (BA English ’84) is a real estate investor at TDL Investments, LLC in Georgia. She is also an active community leader, including the Fayette Humane Society.

Dr. Jesse White, Jr. (BA history and political science ’66) served in numerous governmental positions at both the federal and state levels, as well as in academic life. He retired as Director of the Office of Economic and Business Development at the University of North Carolina.

Mr. Al Williams (MA economics ’90) is Chief Financial Officer at Bush Brothers & Company, Knoxville, Tennessee.  His community leadership includes presidency of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of the Tennessee Valley.
